About Abbey Cwm Hir
Abbey Cwm Hir is a rural village in Powys, Wales, set among upland farmland, scattered plantations, and the northern edge of the Cambrian Mountains. The area includes quiet minor roads, estate tracks, and woodland paths typical of Mid Wales’ mixed-use countryside.
The terrain is gently rolling with small valleys and open fields, and the local surfaces range from compact gravel to natural earth. Forestry blocks and open farmland create a varied setting well-suited to outdoor events that use estate or farm tracks.

Course Description
Hard packed rock, (typical Welsh mountain forest). One or two patches of loose stone, but nothing too dreadful. You are welcome to arrive early and walk or cycle the course in order to decide whether dog-boots are necessary. No really steep hills up or down, but the last half mile is hard (and highly visible from the finish line) uphill slog!
