About Monaughty
Monaughty lies in rural Moray near Elgin and Forres, surrounded by farmland, small patches of woodland, and estate tracks. The landscape includes agricultural fields and low rolling terrain typical of the Laich of Moray.
Terrain is mostly level with mild gradients. Surfaces vary between compacted-earth farm roads, gravel estate tracks, and tarmac minor roads.

Directions
From the East
Take the A96 out of Elgin towards Inverness after about 3 miles turn left down the road signposted ‘Miltonduff, ForestTrails and Pluscarden Abbey’. After 1.8 miles turn right down the unnamed road. Take the first left turn in to the forest just before the first house on the left and follow the signs through the forest trails to the parking area.
From the West
Follow the A96 from Forres through Alves after about 2 miles turn right at the staggered crossroads signposted ‘Miltonduff, ForestTrails and Pluscarden Abbey’ directions then as above.
