About Kinnaird Castle
Kinnaird Castle Estate is a historic estate located near Brechin in Angus, Scotland, set between the Montrose Basin and the River South Esk. The estate covers around 7,000 acres of farmland, forestry and pasture, forming a large agricultural and countryside landscape that has been managed for centuries.
The estate has been associated with the Carnegie family for more than 600 years, with the original castle dating back to the fifteenth century. Over time the medieval tower was expanded and remodelled, particularly during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, creating the large castle that stands today.
Today Kinnaird Castle remains a private family estate while also welcoming visitors through holiday accommodation and events held within the historic castle and surrounding grounds. Set within the Angus countryside near the coast and the Angus Glens, the estate combines working farmland, heritage buildings and landscaped grounds within one of the region’s long-established historic estates.
