About Akna K9 Academy

Akna is a small UK-based kennel and working team dedicated to the breeding and promotion of Canadian Eskimo (Inuit) Dogs and Czechoslovakian Wolfdogs. The kennel focuses on preserving rare northern and primitive breeds while demonstrating their versatility through showing, working activities and public education about their heritage.

Particular emphasis is placed on the Canadian Eskimo Dog, one of the oldest Arctic working breeds and historically used by Inuit communities for transport and survival in extreme conditions. Through careful breeding and competition, Akna aims to support the recognition and preservation of this endangered indigenous breed while showcasing its strength, resilience and working ability.

Alongside their Eskimo Dogs, the team also works with Czechoslovakian Wolfdogs, a modern breed developed from German Shepherds and Carpathian wolves. Akna promotes responsible ownership and greater understanding of the breed while highlighting its athleticism and intelligence through training and competition.

Across both breeds, the kennel’s programme reflects a commitment to strong breeding foundations, responsible stewardship and the continued appreciation of northern working dogs.
