About Whitelee, Renfrewshire
Whitelee Wind Farm on the outskirts of Glasgow is surrounded by moorland, plantation blocks and extensive service roads used for turbine access. These are mostly well-maintained gravel or aggregate routes.
Terrain is open and gently rolling across upland moor. Surfaces include firm gravel, compacted earth and tarmac on approach roads.
Course Description
Hard packed with combination of long, fast sweeping hills with some grass stretches.
Directions
From the North
Take the M73 until M74, follow to Junction 5 onto A725, follow to East Kilbride. Follow the signs for Strathaven Road (A726) at roundabout. Drive 1.3 miles to Torrance roundabout and turn right onto Greenhill’s Road. Ffter 0.2 miles at next roundabout take first exit onto Hurlawcrook Road. Follow for 2 miles to turn left at Millwell Road and take first right onto Ardochrig Road. Rally will be signposted from here.
From the South
Head North on M74. At junction 8, take the A71/B7078 exit to Kilmarnock /Edinburgh /Larkhall. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Swinhill Road/A71. Continue to follow A71 Go through 5 roundabouts for 5.7 miles.
At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Townhead Street/A723. Continue to follow A723 for 0.5 mi. Continue onto Glasgow Road/A726. Continue to follow A726 for 2.3 miles. Turn left for 1.6 mi.
Turn right toward High Cleughearn Road for 0.4 mi.Take the 1st left onto High Cleughearn Road for 1.2 miles.Turn left onto Ardochrig Road. Rally will be signposted from here.
