AMWA
The Alaskan Malamute Working Association (AMWA) is a UK organisation dedicated to promoting the responsible ownership and working ability of the Alaskan Malamute. The association supports owners who wish to maintain the breed’s traditional strength, endurance and suitability for sled dog work.
AMWA encourages participation through a wide range of working activities designed for Malamutes and other sled dog breeds. These include race rallies, long-distance treks, weight pull competitions, backpack schemes and social camping events that bring together enthusiasts from across the community.
Through education, shared experience and practical working events, AMWA aims to preserve the heritage of the Alaskan Malamute as a capable working dog while fostering a supportive network for sled dog owners and handlers throughout the UK.
