Canix UK
Cani-Cross UK (CaniX) is a UK organisation that promotes the sport of canicross, a form of cross-country running where a runner is connected to their dog using a harness, waist belt and bungee line. The group encourages people of all abilities to take part in running with their dogs, emphasising fitness, teamwork and safe participation for both handler and dog.
The organisation runs a series of CaniX events across England, Scotland and Wales, typically held during the cooler months from autumn through spring when conditions are safer for dogs to run. Races are generally short off-road courses, commonly around five kilometres, with additional classes for juniors and “have-a-go” participants to encourage newcomers to the sport.
Through organised races, training guidance and community events, Cani-Cross UK helps introduce runners and dog owners to canicross while supporting the continued growth of dog-powered sports in the UK.
