First and foremost, Canicross is a fun outdoor activity to enjoy with your dog and there’s loads of fantastic trails in Aberdeenshire to make use of! There are plenty of other great reasons to join us though. Here are just a few…
1. Get fit and bond with your dog by exercising together. Improve your fitness and your dog’s health too.
2. See some beautiful parts of Aberdeenshire.
3. It is a social sport and it helps focus an energetic dog. It makes dogs happy, which in turn, will make you happy.
4. You do not need a huge amount of kit. A suitable harness, a waist belt and a bungee line is all you need to get going. Trail shoes are often useful too.
5. Canicross helps dogs to socialise with other dogs in a positive way. They will learn to be focused, happy and at ease when they run. This is reinforced even more through the use of commands.
